Stampin’ Up Lilypad Lake

Thank goodness for color and sketch challenges!  Without them I would be at a loss!  I took my inspiration for this card from paper Craft Crew Challenges and Just Add Ink Challenge Blog. Follow the hyperlinks to go to the challenge sites for more wonderful inspiration.  I’m also entering this card in the Paper Players where the challenge is to create a card with birds.

I used the new Lilypad Lake stamp set and dies from Stampin’ Up to bring this card together.  I just love the heron/egret stamp in this set. When we moved out of Florida in 2008 I was so sad to be leaving behind all of the beautiful water birds. What a delight it was to realize those waterbirds visit Geneva, IL in the summer!  Now, if I could only get palm trees.......

Waterfront Beach Birthday

Just a quick card to show you today using Stampin’ Up’s Waterfront Stamp set.   I laid all of the background color with the stamps onto a 4 x 5 /4” Watercolor paper panel. After all of the color was stamped I blended it with an Aquapainter. Palm Trees were then stamped after the background was dry.  I used the largest Layering Square die to cut out a portion of the finished panel. The square was mounted on a 3 x 3 Early Espresso panel and “popped up” back in it’s place.

This card is being entered in the Seize the Birthday challenge blog where the theme is “beachy birthday”
