How to fill a trash can quickly!

I'll tell you how....design a cross shaped box!  I created this box pattern last year and let's just say, more than a few ended up in the ol' circular file!!  At the end of all the trial and error I was happy with the box design but not so thrilled with how I decorated it.  So, this Easter I wanted to make an updated version but I couldn't find my box pattern....grrr!  Luckily I still had last year's " ugly" version that I didn't mind dismantling to get the measurements right.  Two days later and I have my entry for SUO Challenge #94. I also made this cute, matching card in case I decide to give this one away.

Seashells for Mojo Monday

This weeks entry for Mojo Monday 340.   Does this card make you want to kick back at the beach and dig your toes in the sand?  I guess my subliminal card maker mind is trying to tell me something.  I'm not sure what the fishing net is trying to tell me!

I didn't have the current Stampin' Up! seashell set called At The Seashore so I dusted off one of my old retired sets. I think the size of the shells from the current set would have worked better for this sketch but I can't own them all....as much as I try.   The net was made with the gold bakers twine. I removed the gold thread that runs through it (not difficult to do) , cut twelve lengths of the twine and knotted them together.  I only made ONE of these cards!

STAMPS: Stipple Shells, ABC-123 Sketch Alphabet & Numbers
PAPER: Baked Brown Sugar, Marina Mist, Soft Sky, Naturals Ivory
INK: Baked Brown Sugar, Crisp Cantaloupe, Marina Mist
OTHER: 7/8" Cotton Ribbon, Square Lattice EF, Gold Bakers Twine, sewing machine

The Power of Two

Back again with a card challenge entry.  This card was created for Fab Friday challenge 38. It is a color challenge which I think is more difficult than the sketches.  I  knew I wanted to use my Perfect Blend stamp set so I went searching for a card sketch that could work for the stamps. I found one on Mojo Monday's website in their archives

Here is the Fab Friday color challenge and my card...

This is the old sketch I used
I only planned on using one coffee cup but when I ran across this sentiment it all came together!

STAMPS: Perfect Blend, Yippee Skippee
PAPER: Crumb Cake, Pistachio Pudding, Whisper White, Sweet Sorbet DSP, Crumb Cake DSP
INK: Staz-On Jet Black
OTHER: Scalloped Tag Topper punch, Chevron EF, Crumb Cake 3/8" taffeta ribbon, Stamp-a-ma-jig

Two posts in one day!

I made this card a few days ago but just never took the time to post.  It was made for this past week's Mojo Monday challenge and I just realized I only have a couple more hours to get it entered.  The challenge is found here and below is the sketch and card.  The card is not standard size, it measures 3.5 x 5.5. Let me know what you think.

The tulips were stamped and colored twice. The second set was cut out and placed, image side down, on a piercing mat. I then used a large ball stylus tool and pressed and rolled the stylus in small circles to shape the tulip into a shallow "cup". I adhered them to the main panel tulips with a dimensional in the center and a thin line of glue along the bottom edges.

I made a few different combinations and had a hard time choosing which one I liked best

STAMPS: Blessed Easter, Simply Sketched, Wetlands
PAPER: Shimmery White, Crumb Cake, Wisteria Wonder, Coastal Cabana, Afternoon Picnic DSP
INK: Staz-On Jet Black, Crushed Curry, Pear Pizzazz, Coastal Cabana, Wonder Wisteria
OTHER: Ovals Collection Framelits, Large Oval punch, Pearl Basic Jewels, Aquapainter, piercing pad, large tipped stylus

Bermuda Swallowtail

I love Swallowtail butterflies and I've recently seen a few flying around our house this Spring. My daughter, Gabby, and I have planted some parley in a pot with the hope of attracting a few to lay eggs.  I did some butterfly gardening when we lived in Florida but Gabby was too young to remember so I hope we can lure a few to our pot here.

In the meantime....enjoy this Swallowtail. It is my latest challenge entry for Freshly Made Sketches #130 found here.

STAMPS: Swallowtail, Daydream Medallions, A Round Array
PAPER: Bermuda Bay, Smoky Slate, Basic Black, Whisper White
INK: Versamark, Bermuda Bay, Smoky Slate
OTHER: Black EP, Modern Mosaic EF, Floral Frames Framelits, 1/2" circle punch, Aquapainter

Be back again soon!

This card was chosen as an honorable mention (a princess).   Thank you Narelle for choosing my card!  See all of the winners here
