Flower Shop Thank You

I made this card for the Paper Players Challenge found HERE.
The challenge is to make a clean and simple "girly" thank you card.    "Girly" is easy!  Clean and simple is not as easy for me but I like the final result. I made a set of these note sized cards with a matching box and tag to give as a teacher gift.

Is There No Limit To Your Awesomeness?

No challenge to enter this time, I just wanted to share a card I made for my son, Nick.  His birthday was this week and I almost bought a card (gasp!) because it's hard for me to make masculine cards....let alone for a teen boy.  I couldn't bring myself to buy one (after all, I am saving us money by making all of our cards 😉) so I just decided to dive in and it give a go.  I'm not sure he was as impressed with the card as he was with the gift inside but I like the final result. I used the bouncing brayer technique and sectioned my cardstock into 12 sections. I had wanted to use a vellum panel for the sentiment but I didn't like how messy the "pivot" point looked where all of the colors met.  So, I made a second version of the card by just sponging on the colors.

Now, on to the cards....

Golden Peacock

I've been away from stamping regularly these past couple of months.  First, getting the house ready to sell, then keeping it ready to show meant a couldn't pull out every one of my papercrafting tools and leave them strewn about my desk top.  Apparently I cannot get anything created unless I have every inch of my work space covered with paper, ink, ribbon, tools and usually one cat!  Well, now that we have a buyer for our house and moving day is still about a month away (I don't have to pack a thing in a corporate relocation!)  I'm determined to participate in a few more challenges. I wanted to make a card that is rather simple and quick, not a lot of layers, cutting or coloring.  When I get back to Illinois I may want to start having classes again. I've learned from my past that I'll need at least one easy card per class or I'll have to ask people to bring their sleeping bags with them!  This card was made for the Retro Sketches challenge found HERE.
